About us

Built by someone who's been where you are

M2.Works is led by Matt Salomon, founder and owner. For more than 20 years we have worked with startups, marketplaces, and global consulting clients - and we have seen how the right process can turn a rough idea into a real business. Now we focus on the people the industry often overlooks: small business owners, mom-and-pop shops, and founders with a great idea who don't know how to take the first step.

Our path

  • Early start

Our founder grew up in an entrepreneur family, started working for his father at 14, then in advertising firms from 16 to 18 - learning how businesses actually run before ever stepping onto a campus.

  • University of Texas at Austin

Graduated at 20 with a degree in Advertising, focused on Marketing and Business. The combination of creative thinking and commercial rigor has shaped every product decision since.

  • uShip - founding team

Joined uShip straight out of college and spent 7 years on the founding team as a project manager, leading design and mobile teams. We shipped the Find Shipments tool, the shipment listing process, and many of the core flows that connected shippers and carriers at scale.

  • 15 years in global consulting

Co-founded a consulting business with a private-equity and licensing twist, leveraging internal software platforms developed and architected since the 1980s. Served health-tech, fin-tech, e-commerce, events, self-sufficiency, waste management, and automotive tech - primarily French clients across Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, Africa, and Europe. We remain connected as an owner on the board and active in asset management.

  • Side projects & personal builds

Beyond formal engagements, we have built dozens of side projects for ourselves, family, and friends. That constant hands-on practice keeps our tooling sharp and our instincts practical - we do not just advise, we ship.

  • M2.Works today

After 20+ years inside startups and complex global projects, we launched M2.Works to help the people the industry often overlooks: small business owners, mom-and-pop shops, and founders with a great idea who do not know how to take the first step.

How we work

  • Start small, move fast

The best products begin as rough prototypes. We help you test ideas with the smallest possible investment and improve quickly based on what you learn.

  • Build capability, not dependency

We share the methods and tools as we go, so you end up stronger and more self-sufficient than when we started.

  • Outcome obsession

We define success in plain terms - saved hours, more sales, happier customers - and stay focused on results you can actually see.

Who we work with now

Most innovation services chase well-funded startups and big companies. We started M2.Works to serve everyone else: the small business owner who knows technology can help but doesn't know where to begin, and the founder with a great idea who needs a first prototype without hiring a full team.

Mom-and-pop businesses

Shops, restaurants, and service businesses ready to modernize their website, daily operations, and customer experience - without enterprise complexity or cost.

First-time founders

People with a strong idea who need a prototype, a brand, and a clear path to their first customers.

Side hustlers & solo builders

Individuals turning a passion or side project into a real business and needing guidance on where to start.

Small family businesses

Multi-generation or family-run businesses looking to stay competitive with modern tools and a clearer online presence.
